A Welsh schoolgirl goes entrepreneurial way
A WELSH schoolgirl has proved her entrepreneurial skills by scoring a top 10 place in a UK fundraising competition, it is announced today.
Amy Barrett of Pembrokeshire College was one of 10,000 pupils lent £10 as part of the Make Your Mark with a Tenner initiative.
In just one month she managed to increase her money by more than 130%, raising a total of £135 for charity in memory of a friend who had died.
Make Your Mark with a Tenner, the brainchild of entrepreneur Oli Barrett, saw participating students given a £10 loan and a month to generate as much profit and social impact as they could.
Miss Barrett organised a raffle and a “guess the name†competition, managing to secure 22 prizes from friends, family and businesses.
